When I lived in Berlin (Germany) in 2003 I met two ladies from the US who formed a trapeze duo in variety shows and circuses. They had moved to settle in Berlin, attracted by the creative atmosphere and a more relaxed attitude compared to where they used to live. It surprised me to see this, for, in the 1930-ies variety shows were big in Berlin until the German political situation forced many artists to fled to, amongst others, the US. It seemed as if a reversed Exodus was taking place now.

I followed the ladies for a while, documenting the places where they performed. I made an installation of the photo material I had, adding sound and camera's to it and recreating a sort of dazzling video-installation that represented what I thought they'd feel or see when they were performing their act.
