New ‘KI-NE-MA’ project started:
“Ready when you are” video-loop projected on paper, scalemodel, theatre-light, pedestal and stool, 2017. Dims variable.
The image above is a model of KI-NE-MA, presented at a show in May 2017. And that image on black paper are in fact two new video’s, projected on... well, black paper. Recorded in... the real-life KI-NE-MA itself.
KI-NE-MA is a combination of cinema and theatre; a movie-theatre. Together with my colleague Laurent Malherbe we actually built this thing live-size. But now it contains an awful sound-system, video-projection, theatre-lights, & -curtains and much more.
We are developing a crazy and abstract performance called “How a gherkin turned into a sheep”, to be performed in this portable movie-set that KI-NE-MA actually is. We did a few try-outs already and the show contains flying breakfast amongst other things.
But in fact, I hope that the piece will stimulate you, the viewer, to use your own imagination. So that we don’t have to tell you stories but that it will evoke yours.
If all things work out we’ll be making a short movie again soon. Check the KI-NE-MA page here. We’ve started exhibited KI-NE-MA in October 2017 at “de Sociale Dienst” in my hometown Endhoven.
