10 artists and 2 curators settled down in a residential house at the centre of Tilburg city. For six weeks they worked on new artworks, sometimes collaborative and sometimes individual. The house had been neglected badly by former residents. We cleaned and painted it, and started to invite people over for coffee and positive vibes.
After 6 weeks we held an exhibition for two separate weekends. We had more than 250 visitors, mostly people from the neighborhood. The response was overwhelming. We received poetry, gifts and postcards from visitors. Local park-service showed up to offer their help several times. Neighbours brought us their artworks to be ‘donated’ to the show and former residents showed up to shake hands and mingle with the crowd. It was heart-warming.
